About
Daniel Baas is a freelance editor and cinematographer based in Grand Rapids, MI. He graduated from Calvin College in 2016 with a BA in Media Production and a desire to tell stories that matter.
During his time at Calvin, Daniel worked on a number of documentaries and short films. In the summer of 2015, he received a McGregor Fellowship in documentary filmmaking. This included work editing Shipping Home, which has been screened in film festivals around the country, as well as production and post-production work on Luminous, a documentary set to be released in 2022. He also did extensive work on iWish, a short film that went on to be an official selection at the 2017 Made in Michigan film festival.
As a freelancer, Daniel's clients have included Calvin College, Calvin Video Production, The Calvin Symposium on Worship, The Michigan Department of Corrections, Calvin Prison Initiative, Epic Motion, Bradley Productions, and Westwinds Community Church.
Daniel currently works in marketing for Celebration Cinema and Studio C, works on photography, reads, and watches a lot of basketball.
